Antique “Lily” plate by B & S H (Baker and Spall) in an old frame circa 1835
This delightful piece has been loving cut down at some point in its life probably after being damaged. Instead of throwing the plate away, someone has taken the time to set it into an old wooden frame. The plate is now a beautiful piece of art to be hung on the wall and admired. You can clearly see the way the plate has been chopped away at the edges to fit the frame, not a professional job, however it makes this much beloved plate a thing of beauty. The makers mark has been covered with the plate hanger however a photocopy has been added so that the mark can still be seen.
The wooden frame is an old one with age related wear and tear which fits perfectly with the plate.
This could be a very thoughtful 20th anniversary gift for a loved one.
